Fronted on English Street, White Horse Lane and Blackfriars Street all at once, which tells you how these plots ran. Hugh McGrath, from Ireland, was innkeeper in 1861. It was in the directories up to 1884, was rebuilt by J. W. Watt in 1891 and reopened under a new name, the Bush Vaults, and the scheme closed it in October 1916. This archive separately holds a Bush Tap (Bush Vaults) entry on Blackfriars Street, which it treats as a different pub under the same old White Horse name rather than this one's later chapter -- that entry cites a different 1861 innkeeper (William King, not Hugh McGrath) for what may, on this evidence, actually be the same building's own rename. Not settled here either way.
