Placed on English Street from the position of pubs still standing there. Somewhere on this street, not this doorway

Traceable to at least 1810 under Mr H. Dennison. By 1875 it had closed and become a grocer's shop, and about 1885 the City Arms next door bought the grocer's and knocked through into it. So the Pine Apple was swallowed by the Gaol Tap a decade after it stopped serving, and the pair of them came down together in 1930.
