Under the Civic Centre, at the former junction with Laughran's Lane

Settled, after looking like a muddle. There were two. This one stood at the junction of Rickergate and Laughran's Lane and was closed by the State on 18 April 1916, one of the earliest closures anywhere in the scheme. The other was the Three Crowns Inn at 36 English Street, which had Henry Barber as proprietor in 1829 and Thomas Hudson in 1861, and which in 1916 was proposed for amalgamation with the Wellington next door; that pair became the Citadel Tavern. Two pubs of the same name, on different streets, both ending in the same year. Nothing is recorded about this one beyond where it stood and the day it shut.
