A short life under two names. James Clemetson is named as innkeeper in the Carlisle Journal of 24 March 1804, and John Nicholson had it by 27 May 1809, when the Journal advertised it for sale. It traded as the Fortune of War until about 1816, when it took the name Prince Regent -- fitting enough, since the Prince Regent was ruling in George III's place by then -- and closed under that name in 1820.
