Where exactly
Placed on Scotch Street from the position of pubs still standing there. Somewhere on this street, not this doorway

Traded as the Ordnance Arms from before 1801, becoming the Jolly Butcher by 1827 and finally the Three Cannons from about 1840, closing in October 1916 along with so much of the rest of the street. A separate, older Ordnance Arms also stood at 3 Finkle Street, declining a licence renewal in 1902 -- a different pub under a similar name, not to be confused with this one.
