A beerhouse called the Dog & Partridge from before 1850, renamed the Northumberland Arms by that year and in the directories under the new name from 1850. A Maryport Brewery pub from 1891, when William Irving, beerhouse keeper and blacksmith, held it. Closed by the scheme on 12 July 1916. A separate, similarly named Northumberland House also traded on Botchergate around the same period; nothing found here confirms whether the two names belong to the same house or two neighbouring ones.
