On Botchergate. The exact spot isn't known, so the pin marks the street, not the building.

A dance hall with three names in thirty years, upstairs at 79 Botchergate. Plans to convert the upper floor into a ballroom were passed in May 1940 and the licence granted on 1 July that year: the Cameo Ballroom, trading under that name until 1964. In February 1965 it was renamed the 101 Club, or One-O-One Club: open by December 1965, still going in August 1966, reported closing in February 1968 and confirmed shut that June, then taken on by a new owner and reopened on 28 January 1969.

That April it was renamed again, to Talk of the Border, and it ran as a cabaret club. Its advertisement in the Cumberland News of 5 June 1970 offered the Karl Denver Trio that weekend and cabaret all the next week from the Avons, 'the dynamic duo', with 'wining, dining, casino and dancing' to the Dave Batey Trio, opening at seven on Sundays and nine every other night, telephone Carlisle 22419. Freddie Starr was photographed there at some point in its run.

A Cumberland News piece of 31 May 1974 asks whether Mecca had taken the club over, and it was still being written up in the paper as late as August 1980. Its closing date and later history are not recorded.
