A thin entry: in the local directories only from 1858 to 1861, though a separately-held Carlisle pub database traces the same address back to 1840 under the name Oddfellows and carries it through to 1876 -- a longer run on both ends than the directory citations alone confirm. Not the other, better-documented Union Inn/Hotel this archive holds, which stood on Citadel Row and later Scotch Street.
