Placed on Fisher Street from the position of pubs still standing there. Somewhere on this street, not this doorway

Settled, and the Fisher Street filing here was right. There is a City Vaults on Fisher Street, almost opposite the Kings Head, first mentioned in the directories for 1861 though something probably stood on the spot a good deal earlier, quite possibly eighteenth century like the Kings Head itself. The scheme bought it on 7 September 1916 and it is believed to have closed on 15 January 1921.

It was a bookmakers until recently and stands empty. The confusion was that a study of English Street's pubs gives City Vaults as one of the alternative names for the City Arms at 41-42 English Street, the Gaol Tap. Both are true. The name was used twice, in two streets, and this is the Fisher Street one.
