An underground club, literally: it was in the cellars of an old Victorian building on Lowther Street, and by common account had one of the strangest layouts of any club in the city. It was a fixture of freshers' week for the University of Cumbria, which is the trade a small-city club lives on. It stopped trading on 11 May 2019. The cellars did not stay empty long: the Underground opened in them on 3 December 2021, its owner saying openly that he meant to build on the name Concrete had. The alumni of the university, who remember it as the city's student night spot, describe exactly the layout this entry does: multi-room, low-ceilinged and always packed.
