The newest name in the plaza, and only the newest name. The licence for this unit runs back to 2005 and has been through a long string of holders, transfers and supervisors since. It passed to the current operator in June 2026.
The licence permits nine in the morning to four the next, seven days a week, which is a good deal more than it advertises. It's built for a nightclub even when it's presenting as a bar.
Along with Ballers, Deja Vu and Rouge, that makes four separate licensed units in one small complex, with the council's records also carrying Truth (now Alien), Terminal, Las Vegas and the Church against other units. Englishgate Plaza is the clearest example in Carlisle of a building that stays a nightlife destination while every business inside it changes.
