Lost pub ยท Caldewgate
The Rodney Inn
- Gone
- Closing date not recorded
- There now
- Not established
- Where exactly
- Placed on Caldewgate from the position of pubs still standing there. Somewhere on this street, not this doorway
Known from a single line in the Carlisle Journal of 8 September 1810, which mentions Jacob Jefferson, who keeps the Rodney Inn, Caldewgate. Named presumably for Admiral Rodney. Nothing else about it has been written down: no street number, no closing date, no picture.
Know anything about this one?
What's above is everything on file, and it isn't much. If you drank in it, or your family did, or you've a photograph of it, that's more than the records hold.
