The Scheme's 'super pub', created by knocking down the wall between the Saracen's Head and the Black Bull. It lasted 55 years. The entire north side of Annetwell Street went for the inner ring road, so there's no trace of any of the three. The pub sign itself outlived the building: the Cumberland News reported on 19 May 1972 that it had been rescued for Tullie House museum's collection.
