An estate pub of the newest sort in this archive: it opened on 20 August 1975, which makes it younger than most of the houses around it, and it holds a small distinction of its own -- Whitbread's first pub in Carlisle once the State Management Scheme's monopoly ended. It closed in 2006, traded for a few years as the Spice Enterprise, an Indian restaurant, and was pulled down in May 2012. Houses stand on it now.

Thirty-one years is a short life for a pub, and the Enterprise is a fair example of what happened to the estate pubs built in the 1960s and 70s: put up with the estate, gone within a working lifetime.
