Built for the parish of St Augustine, with a datestone of 11 November 1952. It closed in January 2008, reported at the time as simply not generating enough money to carry on, and the redundant club building was later sold to McCarthy & Stone for retirement apartments -- part of a wider handover, since the Augustinian community gave up the parish to the Diocese of Lancaster in 1995.
