At 19 Henry Street, 11 before the street was renumbered, Henry Street being the older name for this stretch of what is now Warwick Road, where the house became 19 Warwick Road. The Cumberland News of 6 March 1992 says the Crown Inn, later a hotel, stood at the top end of what is now all Warwick Road, and the Ordnance Survey map of 1899 shows it three doors down from the Lord Brougham, which stood on the corner of Henry Street and Crosby Street, in the property occupied by Mison's in 1992. Not the Crown Inn on Corporation Road.

It was trading from 1830; the 1992 column has it first in the city directories in 1844. It was a lower building than the one standing in 1992, since council minutes for 1881-82 record approval for Mrs Iredale to add an extra storey to the front. Sarah Smith of the Crown, Henry Street, was on the police black list in September 1880, and Thomas Hilton, 60 and born at Kirkby Thore, is the innkeeper of the 1901 census.

The Evening News and Star reported its closure on 2 November 1916, and the Board's report of 1 November lists the Crown Inn, Warwick Road, among the twenty Carlisle licences it had extinguished. From its disappearance from the directories the 1992 column had already concluded that the Crown was a victim of the scheme's takeover.
