History
A cocktail bar dressed as a dreamlike beach volleyball club, in landlocked border Carlisle. One reviewer described it as a beach volleyball club with dream logic: the décor, and old beach volleyball matches playing on a loop.
Table service only. You're shown to a table and given complimentary artisan appetisers while you read the menu, which runs from craft keg to cocktails. Small, stylish, and consistently rated among the best bars in the city: expert cocktails, staff who remember regulars, and a free shot or a discount if a drink misses. There are karaoke nights too.
No heritage: a small modern bar in a Warwick Road unit, next door to Gibby's, no listing, no older building behind it. Its appeal is entirely contemporary. The name is presumably a nod to the American wasp and the sports-team mascot, though the bar has not said.
