The 1891 census gives its address as number 1 Brunton Place, which is the terrace now numbered 239 to 273 Warwick Road. Joseph Glaister, born in Carlisle, was innkeeper in 1861; Charles Barker, born at Todmorden in Yorkshire, had it by 1891. It closed in 1917 under the scheme. Fifteen years later Harry Redfern built the Crescent Inn a short way along the same road, and the Lord Brougham went the same way in 1932.
Warwick Road lost three pubs inside twenty years and gained one. Number 247 of the surviving terrace carries a plaque dated 1847, which may mark when this stretch of what became Warwick Road was first built up.
