Traded as the Cross Keys from 1782, took the Liddesdale Tavern name from about 1855, and was known as the Citadel by 1860-61. The site's own pub database suggests this naming thread may lead into the Citadel Tavern chain already on file at 37 English Street -- itself a tangle of a Bull and Butcher, a French Horn, a Wellington and a possible Annabelle's connection -- but Peascod's Lane and English Street aren't confirmed here as the same address, so this is recorded as a separate, older entry rather than folded into that chain.
