A separate pub from the Farmers Arms on St Cuthbert's Lane, which stood elsewhere in the city. In local directories in 1837 and again in 1858. The 1861 census gives Mrs Read, 47 and born in Carlisle, as innkeeper -- close enough to the last directory listing to suggest it was still trading right at the end of its documented life, or only just gone.
