On Shaddongate, formerly the Minerva Inn — a separate pub of that name from the one on Court Square. In the local directories from 1858 to 1913/14; the 1861 census gives Thomas Pollard, aged 39, publican, born Gaitsgill. A newspaper note records it closed in October 1916, so it evidently traded on past its last directory listing until the state took the district's pubs that year.
