An old established beer shop in Botcherby, advertised to let under its earlier name, the Sun, in April 1854, and in the directories as the Plough Inn from 1869 to 1873. William Moffat, described as "of Star Inn" -- meaning the Star, the Botcherby pub this archive already holds -- organised pigeon shooting here in October 1866, one publican helping run an event at a rival's pub, or perhaps simply a neighbourly arrangement between two houses on the same road. Mrs Elsworth had it up for sale in March 1873.
