The old St Bede's school building, vacated when the new school on Wigton Road opened in 1962, reopened the following year as a licensed club run by the Carlisle Young Men's Society. It was closed for three months in 2009 after trouble with rowdy behaviour, reported at the time in the Cumberland News. Carlisle's licensing register carries a St Bede's Hall at 120 Wigton Road, which may or may not be the same premises as this 1963 club -- not confirmed either way here.
