The clubhouse of Carlisle Council 60 of the Knights of St Columba, a Catholic men's fraternal order founded in Glasgow on 5 October 1919 around the principles of charity, unity and fraternity. The Carlisle council followed in 1923, and had a clubhouse of its own on Warwick Square. The Cumberland News recorded the sale of the Warwick Square premises on 4 March 2005. Of the city's Catholic social clubs, Harraby Catholic Club and St Margaret Mary's at Upperby are both still trading.
