A State Management house on the Penrith road, number 115 on the scheme's roll of 1920, and confirmed from a second direction: The Carlisle Kid, writing about the neighbouring Salutation at High Hesket, records that the scheme nationalised the Rose & Crown at Low Hesket. The two villages sit a mile apart on the A6 and the contrast is the point of his note, since he has the Salutation staying private.
Beyond that the record is bare. No opening date, no closing date, and nothing to say what the building is now; the Old Cumbria Gazetteer still carries Rose and Crown, Low Hesket as a place in Hesket parish, which is often all that survives of a country pub. The scheme's other Rose & Crowns were at Upperby and Kirkbampton.
