The Cardewlees Inn
- Gone
- Closed around 1916
- There now
- A house, the corner house in the hamlet
- Address
- Cardewlees, on the A595
- Where exactly
- Placed from the Ordnance Survey grid reference, NY3458351443, in Historic England's gazetteer of the scheme's premises. The building's use in 2018: restaurant (The Mango Tree).
West of the city on the A595 at Cardewlees, and known for most of its life, from the early nineteenth century, as the New Inn. It closed around 1916, the year the scheme began, or in 1917 by Historic England's gazetteer of the scheme's premises. The building survives as the corner house in the hamlet, and was trading as a restaurant, the Mango Tree, in 2018. It was certainly still open on 8 July 1916, when the Cumberland News listed it as the New Inn, Cardewlees, so a 1916 closure came later that year.
