One of Southwaite's three pubs on the scheme's 1920 roll, and named for the village's station on the main line, which opened with the Lancaster and Carlisle Railway and closed to passengers in 1952. The hotel is in the directories from 1894. The scheme took it in February 1919, at first on a lease; it bought the place outright in 1957 or 1958 and let it to a tenant in the late 1960s, and when the scheme was wound up it was sold to that tenant for £4,760. The directories still list it after 1971. The village's other two roll entries were the Blue Bell and the Market Gate; the sell-off list also records a Smiths Arms Inn at Marketgate sold for £7,750 and a Crown Inn at Broadfield, Southwaite, managed by the scheme and valued at £4,570. By 2018 the building was a private house.
