- Address
- 19 Union Street
In the local directories from 1850 to 1869 under this name, also called the Blacksmiths Arms. A separately-held pub database carries two entries for 19 Union Street that could both be this pub: one, trading as the Blacksmiths Arms from 1754 and as the Smiths Arms from 1861 to 1879, and another, trading as the Smiths Arms (also called the Dun Cow) from 1847 to 1883. Whether these describe one long-lived house with two overlapping record trails, or two different pubs that shared the same address at different times, isn't settled -- both are noted here rather than one being silently preferred.
