At 19 Union Street, in the local directories from 1850 to 1869 as the Smith's Arms, and also called the Blacksmiths Arms. The house is older than those directories. One record has it trading as the Blacksmiths Arms from 1754 and as the Smith's Arms from 1861 to 1879; another has a Smith's Arms here, also called the Dun Cow, from 1847 to 1883. Not the Smith's Arms on Henry Street, which was gone by 1840.
