A large estate pub on Newlaithes Avenue, opened on 6 August 1967. It is sometimes put on Ashness Drive, and it is often assumed to have been Morton's other pub alongside the Royal Scot on Langrigg Road; it was neither. Different part of Morton, different estate. In February 1987 a fire did a hundred thousand pounds of damage to it. It closed in 2014 and was pulled down the following May. Named, like the Border Reiver, for the frontier, though in this case for the dog bred to work it.
