Cummersdale, Carlisle
The Spinners Arms
One of Redfern's smaller New Model Inns, opened June 1930. The exterior is very well preserved and a Delft pottery fireplace survives inside. Originally three separate rooms — a men-only bar, a smoking room, and a lounge where table service added a penny to your pint.
Village local at Cummersdale serving hand-pulled Carlisle Brewing Company ales. Dog friendly, monthly live music sessions.
History
Opened June 1930
One of Redfern's smaller New Model Inns, opened June 1930. Historic England call it a good and very attractive example of the type, with a well-preserved exterior and a surviving Delft pottery fireplace. Originally three rooms — a men-only bar, a smoking room, and a lounge where table service cost you an extra penny on the pint. It's now one room, and home to the Carlisle Brewing Company's ales.
